Director, Communications and Government Affairs for Sustainability

GSK is a global leader in Consumer Healthcare with consumer-preferred and expert-recommended brands that are differentiated by science and insight-driven innovation.

We’re looking for a Communications and Government Affairs (CGA) professional to work on sustainability. The Director-level position will be based at our headquarters in London and be responsible for developing a proactive and ambitious CGA strategy for sustainability that engages key stakeholders, leverages opportunities, manages risks and builds corporate reputation. The successful candidate will need to influence and lead with confidence in a complex environment.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a global CGA strategy for sustainability
  • Create GSK Consumer Healthcare policy positions on key environmental and social sustainability topics and ensure alignment with the wider GSK sustainability agenda
  • Define key topics and markets for proactive and reactive engagement and environment shaping
  • Identify, secure and manage key external partners to support and help deliver sustainability strategy
  • Partner with the Head of Sustainability and support their work as a member of the Consumer Goods Forum’s Sustainability Committee
  • Participate on the Sustainability Lead Team and Consumer Healthcare CGA Lead Team

 

Qualifications

  • Extensive experience in Communications, Government Affairs and Sustainability
  • Highly collaborative with experience working in a matrixed organization
  • Proven ability to manage ambiguity, define new approaches and drive clarity in an evolving environment
  • Good judgment, strategic thinking and thought leadership
  • Support and counsel to senior leaders
  • Familiarity with metrics-based communications planning, media strategy, and stakeholder management
  • University degree in Communications, Politics or Business
