Job Details

A leading women’s health charity investing in pioneering medical research to keep women well at each stage of life wants to hire a Digital and Communications Manager.  The charity saves and transforms the lives of women and gives babies the best start in life by finding cures and treatments across the breadth of female reproductive health.

The key components of the role are to help raise awareness and understanding of the organisation, build new media relationships and develop and manage its digital strategy and website. They need someone who can:

  • Create compelling copy and content, both print and online
  • Manage a website and run integrated social media campaigns (an understanding of SEO and web metrics would be helpful)
  • Conceive and develop newsworthy stories and features to sell in to the national and women’s consumer press
  • Support the organisation of fundraising and VIP events
  • Coordinate responses to women’s health stories in the media, changes in policy, scare stories etc.

It’s absolutely essential that you have first-rate (journalist quality) writing skills and an intuitive news sense. You might be a journalist ready to make the transition into comms or you may be in a PR consultancy keen to move in house and into the third sector. It’s a given that you’ll care passionately about women’s health.

It’s a fantastic opportunity to join a charity that is making a difference to the health of the nation’s women and babies.
