Job Details

Fixed-term contract of 23 months

This is an outstanding opportunity to kick-start your career in media and public affairs within a highly influential organisation at the heart of the charity sector.

With a high level of responsibility from day one, supported by a package of training and development, you make a crucial contribution to NCVO’s important work. You have a key role in helping us secure media coverage as well as to collaborate with a range of external stakeholders from parliament and among our member charities.

Your potential is as important to us as your experience, but you’ll already have an interest in the media and politics, with some knowledge of public policy and the voluntary sector, and you’ll be an effective team player with excellent communication skills.

With excellent analytical skills, you are competent and experienced in researching information. Well organised, you manage and prioritise your work efficiently and work on your own initiative.

NCVO’s trainee scheme has a strong track record of giving people an excellent introduction to working for a charity and helping them go on to build a career in the charity sector.

NCVO is fully committed to equity, diversity and inclusion in our sector.  We want this to be reflected in the diversity of the people who work for us and we welcome applications from people from all backgrounds and identities.  We particularly welcome applications from disabled and Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) candidates as BAME and disabled people are currently under-represented in NCVO. As part of our commitment to employing disabled people, all disabled candidates who meet the minimum requirement for all competencies on the person specification, will be guaranteed an interview.

If you have access needs or require reasonable adjustments as part of the recruitment process, please let us know.
