Job Details

Due to the exceptional growth in its corporate advisory practice, our client is now looking to appoint an accomplished and highly experienced Senior Account Executive or Account Manager with a solid track record of achievement in the field of strategic communications and reputation management who feels they have achieved everything they can in their current role and is looking to do something new, valuable and challenging.

This agency is a fast growing, independent strategic communications consultancy focused on corporate and financial communications, and political advisory work. Its clients include highly prestigious private equity, hedge funds, start-up and challenger businesses, UHNWIs, and well-known corporates.

This role would suit someone with 2-5 years’ agency experience and a proven track record of media handling, ideally in a corporate or agency context, with possible prior experience in the media, or in the City.

This will be a really exceptional and rewarding opportunity for a candidate with established and demonstrable credentials to build on their track record to date and play a keystone role in developing intellectually demanding, complex and commercially sensitive advisory relationships.  It will provide the natural next step for candidates looking to ensure their contribution is recognised; valued; and propel them towards further personal growth in their careers. From the outset, they will be exposed to C-suite client principals and have the opportunity to make a rewarding contribution to the development of strategically important advisory relationships.

The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate impressive levels of intellectual rigour and agility, commercial judgement, media awareness and understanding, and already to have a rapidly growing personal network of relevant contacts. The ability to generate personal credibility in the eyes of their clients, and contribute to building an effective and sustainable new business pipeline for the agency, will be critically important.

You will be energetic; have a laser-like focus on accuracy and detail; express yourself cogently and effectively in oral and written communications; have a track record for proactivity, self-starting and personal delivery; be credible when presenting yourself to clients and new business prospects; be collegiate and able to work effectively as part of a wider, multi-disciplinary and multi-office team; have experience in managing client budgets and billings; be extremely well presented; and have a total commitment to succeed in a high value professional services environment in a prestigious part of central London.

For the right candidate, this will be an exceptional opportunity to join a fast growing consulting business which is rapidly building an impressive reputation in complex advisory work, through its own offices in London and Europe.

Responsibilities

Your role will require you to:

  • Conduct confident and pro-active day-to day contact with clients;
  • Build upon an ideally pre-existing knowledge and understanding of strategic communications and deploy it in support of the business, its clients and prospects;
  • Play an important role in ensuring the commercial relationship with relevant clients is managed in an efficient and professional manner;
  • Line-manage junior team members;
  • Produce written papers and briefing notes quickly, to a professional standard, for internal and client consumption;
  • Build a powerful personal network and deploy this to help support the ongoing growth of the business;
  • Provide effective and pro-active support to colleagues in respect of new business getting activities and initiatives;
  • Develop your own new business ideas;
  • Play an important role in marketing initiative, both in origination and execution;
  • Proactively manage social media accounts and regularly contribute to thought-leadership;
  • Be familiar with a wide range of online media databases and information retrieval systems; and
  • Support or be responsible for event management planning and preparations.

Requirements (personal)

The role would be like likely to suit someone with the following skills and experience:

  • A good class of degree (2:1 or above);
  • 2-5 years’ experience in a corporate comms or financial PR agency, or in a larger corporate in-house environment;
  • A proven track record of media engagement and a good network of contacts;
  • An appetite and aptitude for learning about new sectors and issues at speed;
  • A strong commercial sense and a current and sophisticated interest in a range of business sectors and issues;
  • A total commitment to succeed, balanced by a commitment to act in a collegiate way, as part of a closely-knit team;
  • Excellent IT skills – MO skills and experienced with social media.
