Brand Marketing/Communications Specialist - Global Fund to Fight Disease – Geneva, Switzerland – to 110,000 Swiss Frs (equivalent £85,000) – 1 Year Contract 

My client is a globally recognised not for profit institution designed to accelerate the end of AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria as epidemics. They mobilise and invest more than US$4 billion a year to support programs run by local experts in more than 100 countries.

Whether it be the distribution of bed nets to protect families from malaria in Honduras, training youth peer counsellors who will help other teens diagnosed as HIV-positive in South Africa, or providing equipment for the diagnosis of tuberculosis to clinics in Kazakhstan, country-driven programs to fight the pandemics receive funding.

With a background in corporate brand building and project management, the role sits in the marketing, branding and campaign functions, planning and executing key projects to drive support for my client’s global mission. As the gatekeeper of the brand, the Specialist oversees initiatives that safeguard and advance brand identity.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Significant experience in international strategic brand marketing and communications including brand management, awareness, communications and marketing campaigns, work on corporate branding projects including policy and strategy. Any experience in the international charitable/nfp, humanitarian or health awareness sector is helpful, but not essential.
  • Excellent writing and presentation skills
  • Ideally some experience in networking and leading international cross-cultural teams

Key responsibilities:

 • Work closely with the Team Leader to develop and implement major marketing initiatives, including creative campaigns, large scale events and special projects to drive awareness and support for my client’s mission.  • Act as brand ambassador; ensure that brand guidelines are implemented and followed; ensure that internal and external stakeholders are knowledgeable about available resources and that marketing materials are consistent and on brand. • Lead individual projects - develop and execute project action plans with timelines, deliverables, resource allocation, contingencies. Align strategies with internal teams and coordinate execution of projects with both internal and with external partners. • Manage interns, consultants and external agencies as required across projects (from content development, to celebrity engagement to production of branded collateral). This includes researching, sourcing and coordinating multi-service agencies. • Devise and oversee budgets for specific projects. • Develop briefs and concept notes in line with marketing strategy. • Provide accurate and creative copywriting and proofreading of communication materials, advertisements, promotions. • Lead internal buy-in of marketing strategies and implementation. Ensure that Secretariat is on board and communicate information to units across the Secretariat.  • Plan and oversee market research and audience analysis. • Monitor and evaluate the impact of campaigns and key marketing initiatives.
