Press Officer/PR Manager

Overview:

As our PR Manager you will be responsible for supporting the business by helping to deliver Telegraph Media Group’s communications strategy across the business, with a focus on commercial activities. This is a proactive, hands-on role, in a fast-paced environment where you'll be a key member of the Communications team. This role will lead in delivering proactive press on key commercial campaigns and announcements, driving awareness amongst key stakeholders, which include advertisers, media and tech influencers, digital and industry press. You will also support key corporate and internal communications campaigns and priorities, as well as handling reactive press queries working with the wider press team.

Key Responsibilities will include:

  • Writing and delivering PR plans for the business, including our subscription first strategy, working with key stakeholders and partners
  • Support key Corporate communications plans across a range of channels, from writing press releases, to handling external press queries and issues
  • Working closely with a number of departments across the business, to showcase work and announce appointments, media firsts, product launches and award wins
  • Develop and implement an ongoing plan to engage staff in the company’s vision, subscription first strategy and values using a mix of channels and technologies and be able to reflect different messages and audiences.
  • Manage existing internal comms channels including Workplace, internal bulletins and internal business updates.
  • Help deliver successful town hall meetings and regular off-site staff business update events working on scripts, content delivery and event production.
  • Plan, write and design engaging and creative content for internal comms channels and presentations for events
  • Handling and assisting some Telegraph press enquiries as part of the press office team
  • Help manage speaking engagements for executives
  • Monitor coverage and industry news

Requirements:

  • Significant PR experience either in-house or agency-side, preferably in corporate communications or an in-house press team.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Dealing with numerous sensitive issues, it is essential that you are capable of handling confidential information with discretion.
  • A proactive approach to working in a busy newsroom and a thriving digital business is key to securing this role
  • A good understanding of the media landscape.
