Account Manager

Coverdale Barclay is a dynamic, London-based strategic communications agency that specialises in perception-changing PR and marketing for districts and destinations, such as town/ city centres, mixed use schemes, shopping centres and neighbourhoods, many of which are being regenerated, refurbished or re-positioned. Our clients include landlords, developers, estate owners, investment funds, private equity firms and local authorities.

The role

The Account Manager will be responsible for the proactive day-to-day management of key client accounts and will be a key member of the team that delivers quality media coverage, creative brand-building activities and impactful marketing and social media for our clients. Responsibilities include:

  • Day-to-day management of client accounts (client meetings, budgeting, reporting etc.)
  • Writing and delivering PR strategies, plans and timelines for client projects
  • Client meetings
  • Developing and managing project evaluations and KPIs
  • Directing and managing junior members of the team
  • Drafting media materials, including news releases, opinion pieces, key messages
  • Understanding of industry topics, trends and trading environment for story ideas
  •  Pro-actively identifying and pursuing story angles and opportunities to ensure maximum coverage
  • Issues management, including reactive press responses and strategic advice to clients
  • Developing appropriate social media strategies for clients, and managing growth of social channels
  • Project managing the design and development of marketing collateral
  •  Event management including creating and controlling budgets, liaison with suppliers (eg venue, caterers) and management of invitations
  • Briefing and liaison with third party partners and suppliers, e.g. designers, photographers
  • Creative input in new business brainstorms, involvement in development of new business strategies, and support for pitch processes
  • Sharing creative content on CB social channels and with CB team

Essential Skills

  • Ability to lead, and make difficult decisions, be assertive when required
  • Good presentation skills
  • Creative thinking, dynamic outlook, collaborative worker
  • Strong contacts at relevant trade and national titles including property, retail, food & beverage and other relevant sectors
  • Excellent verbal and written skills
  • Track record of successfully managing PR process from start to finish, including development of strategy to implementation press outreach
  • Good knowledge of social media and implementation experience
  • Working knowledge of events/event management, promotions and competitions
  • Strong project management skills
  • Good budgeting experience
  • Highly organised and able to prioritise effectively
