An exciting and rare opportunity has arisen to join one of the biggest FMCG retailers as a Corporate Communications Manager. This role supports the Executive Committee on high-level speeches and media engagement, as well as writing content for corporate reporting and financial calendar events, so is ideal for someone who's a very strong writer and has some experience/knowledge of financial comms/calendar events.

The Role – Corporate Communications Manager

In this role, you’ll be working in the Corporate Communications team, a small team in the business comprised of senior corporate and/or financial communications professionals.  Reporting into the Head of Corporate Communications, day-to-day responsibilities will include speech writing, drafting written material of exceptional quality and clarity for the CEO, Chairman and Executive Committee and working on financial calendar events.


A full job spec can be provided upon application but key responsibilities will include:

  • Developing the company’s corporate narrative, bringing together the core purpose, values, strategic priorities and customer proposition, to help build trust in the brand
  • Drafting written material of exceptional quality and clarity for the CEO, Chairman and Executive Committee, including high-level speeches and editorials
  • Supporting key events such as financial results, the AGM and the Annual Report
  • Handling corporate media enquiries, working with the Head of Corporate Communications and Press Office team to respond to journalists
  • Conducting background research and Q&A for leadership briefs, including collation of responses for the AGM
  • Managing the Corporate Communications inbox, handling speaking invitations and other requests sent to the CEO
  • Managing the disclosure process for the Annual Report, working with Group Finance

About You:

  • Agency background preferred
  • Exceptional writing skills with experience of writing for Exec Co/C suite executives
  • Knowledge of and interest in corporate strategy and financial markets
  • Able to influence and build relationships at multiple levels

In return:

• A salary of £45,000 - £50,000
• Annual bonus up to 3.5% of annual salary
