Our client is a well-loved food brand.  They have a global reach, a household name and are a dominant brand in their sector. They are now looking for a strong communications manager to join their award-winning team.

The role

This is a full 360 communications role and it will cover, consumer and corporate PR, social and digital engagement (Gen Z), internal and external communications, charity partnerships, and a bit of public affairs.  Ideally, you will have at least 10 years of industry experience.

Working closely with the Head of Communications and four external PR agencies, you’ll partner with the Marketing, IT and Digital teams to create annual external and internal communications strategies to promote and protect the brand.  Within the team, there are four talented Managers and three super Specialists. One of the Specialists will be your direct report and you’ll also have the support of a team coordinator.  Your focus will be ensuring that the brand has lots of love and tonnes of food lust!

With excellent relationship management experience and strong media contacts, the right candidate will have significant experience in food and drink, retail or FMCG, gained from in-house and/or agency.

The person

You will be, experienced, confident and ambitious. You will a credible individual with the gravitas to forge relationships with management including C-Suite and external stakeholders.  You will have a great track record of creating impactful national media campaigns, managing complex high-profile issues and dealing with demanding journalists and you’ll also be happy to roll your sleeves up. Ideally a mix of in-house and agency side. 

As a senior member of the Communications team, you’ll deputise for the Head of Communications for crisis and issues management. Therefore, it’s important you are experienced in sometimes complex situations.

This is a varied role for an amazing brand within a highly supportive team.  On offer is an extremely competitive salary and great package.  Initially, the role will be to work from home, and when the new ‘normal’ returns this will be 3 days office and 2 days at home.
