We believe in a world where everyone breathes clean air.
Launched at the UN Secretary General’s Climate Summit in 2019 and with more than $50m in unrestricted funds raised to date, the Clean Air Fund is a global philanthropic initiative that works to achieve clean air for all.
We make grants to reduce outdoor air pollution - to monitor the state of the air, to develop policies for clean energy and transport, to mobilise the public and to run campaigns. We are well-resourced and scaling fast; funded by a growing partnership of leading foundations with interests across health, climate, children and mobility. By bringing these and other organisations together, we hope to identify and create best practice, share learnings and connect people and ensure solutions are rapidly scaled up and replicated around the world.
We are now seeking a dynamic individual to join as our first Head of Communications, to work alongside an exceptionally high calibre, growing team, and be at the heart of efforts to reduce air pollution across the globe. Reporting into the Strategic Partnerships and Communications Director (whom we are currently recruiting) and working closely with the Programmes team, the Head of Communications will develop the organisation’s first communications strategy across a range of channels, audiences and events. We promote our projects, partners and clean air solutions above promoting ourselves, building a shared platform to amplify the messages of partners and connect people for greater impact. At the same time, the Head of Communications will continue to build our reputation with existing and potential donors, and within the air quality community.
The successful candidate will bring significant experience of developing and implementing communication strategies. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with an instinctive problem-solving approach and be passionate about achieving the Clean Air Fund’s objectives. Most importantly, they will be an excellent and engaging written communicator, whilst being supremely organised and experienced at working across teams and external stakeholders. An awareness of environmental and/or health issues will be beneficial.
