Global Office Consulting (GOC) is a consultancy organisation that specialises in international development and global health offering professional services for organisations and individuals in the areas of strategic and operational planning, advocacy and communications, political and campaign planning and event management. The day-to-day 

  • Managing a portfolio of client accounts 
  • Running the account/s on an operational level and channelling specific expertise
  • Providing strategic counsel to clients to aid their communications and/or partnerships and wider campaigns
  • In charge or delivering and feeding back to Account Leads
  • Building relationships with existing and new clients
  • Building relationships with key media contacts
  • Liaising with clients regarding press campaigns, creative projects and PR solutions
  • Dealing with the media, speaking to journalists and other members of the press
  • Providing innovative and creative ideas to clients
  • Briefing clients and updating them on press campaigns
  • Analysing communications coverage and providing written reports
  • Communicating effectively with a range of stakeholders
  • Daily point of contact with key media contacts
  • Managing a high level of client interaction

Key responsibilities

Responsibilities will vary according to organisation and accounts but may include a combination of:

  • Responsible for quality control with clients
  • Developing sector-focused campaigns
  • Managing the needs of the client and their accounts
  • Contributing to daily meetings, and liaising and updating clients on activities
  • Building client relationships and maintaining a network of media contacts including journalists and industry spokespeople
  • Spearheading both traditional and digital communications and social media projects
  • Developing news angles, stories and pitches to further the client’s profile
  • Fulfilling the client’s key performance indicators and growing accounts
  • Being involved in pitching for new business and developing campaign proposals
  • Managing and mentoring junior members of staff
  • Contribute to the research and writing of strategy memos, media materials and issue briefs
  • Monitor and analyse media coverage and advocate conversations about global health and international development issues
  • Draft and implement social media content for GOC and clients across all channels
  • Provide logistics support for conferences, meetings and events that GOC organises on behalf of clients
  • Manage databases of media, policymakers and opinion leaders
  • Assist GOC staff with project management (e.g., drafting meeting minutes, updating work plans, tracking budgets)

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 4+ years of work experience
  • Microsoft Office proficiency
  • Exceptional writing ability
  • Experience managing teams to achieve ambitious results 

Relevant experience

  • Agency experience is preferred
  • Evidence of copywriting and report writing, social media, event management and client liaison skills
  • Strong communication with excellent presentation and data analysis capabilities
  • Aptitude to build a network 
  • Industry knowledge and contacts is beneficial

Job Offer

  • Reporting to Account Lead 
  • Full time with flexible working hours 
  • Salary scale £28,000 - £33,000 based on experience 
  • Contract duration: One year contract with the intention of extension 
  • Location: Central London 
  • Start Date: Immediate
