Job Details

This is a great opportunity for a strong Comms officer with strong B2B, corporate and purpose driven experience, to join a leading charity working with businesses to cut global emissions and encourage renewable energy usage.

The charity has already having a massive impact on global electricity and vehicle markets. Working with businesses, they have influenced millions of vehicles to go electric and the energy demand of a large country to go renewable. That is why they need  a talented, ambitious PR Officer to join their team. You will be driving integrated communications as a critical part of your corporate leadership initiatives and their broader work in the energy, transport and built environment systems.

You will have exceptional writing skills, with a nose for a good story, a proven ability to secure media coverage, with an understanding of how to work with stakeholders in business and an ability to understand and simplify technical details.  Strong reactive and proactive press office skills are absolutely key coupled with a love of generating coverage in national, business and trade titles in particular. In addition the role will require strong stakeholder relations especially with the charities core businesses whom they partner with to help fight climate change.

You should be able to think tactically, to create and take opportunities to deliver on their strategic objectives, including influencing hundreds more companies around the world to take action - fast. You will also enjoy a challenge and a fast-paced, energetic environment where balancing of multiple priorities with multiple colleagues, and bringing people with you to deliver on your ideas, is the everyday norm.

Working rapidly, an entrepreneurial spirit, excellent writing and passion for quality of outputs are a must. The need for managing multiple requests while setting and pursuing priorities means the successful candidate is likely to have demonstrable experience within an agency or internal communications team or press office.

A background in energy, transport or climate issues would be ideal,  so you can deal with external stakeholders and media contacts in this sector.

In addition to press office you will be responsible for driving social media content, as well as working with partners in other major markets like  US, India, Japan, Australia etc to tailor news for target geographies.

This is a critical and urgent hire with an ideal start date of mid to late November 2020.
