The successful candidate will be an inspiring and empowering leader with first rate stakeholder management experience. They will be comfortable providing leadership through a period of change and working in an environment of public scrutiny, with responsibility for a budget of circa £34m.

We have the fifth largest Defence budget in the world, with over 20 Operations in over 25 countries. Effective communication is a core part of corporate support and operational impact. It promotes our work, projects our reach and influence and helps deter those who threaten the people and prosperity of the UK.

What is the Ministry of Defence?

Simply, it is the organisation that enables the Armed Forces to do their job. But it is much more than that. As Civil Servants we are involved in every facet of defence: from procuring and maintaining the equipment that our Military colleagues use on operations and supporting Ministers in implementing defence policy.

Where can you find us?

We go wherever our Armed Forces colleagues go; most of our opportunities are within the UK in almost every part of the country, although we do have a significant amount of civilian posts around the world including opportunities to undertake voluntary operational tours in places such as Bosnia and Iraq.
