Senior External Communications Manager - £65-£75k + 10% bonus, + pension, and a great package. An amazing new in-house role for an established global healthcare company who can offer a rewarding career with great progression and a supportive culture. If you have excellent media relations skills within the healthcare, life sciences and or biotechnology sectors and can build a company’s profile in the wider healthcare media, then this is a role you can make your own.
The Company
Our client is a global healthcare brand who specialise in genomics using sequencing and microarrays as their core technology. Their tech is used in the research of cancer, complex disease, microbiology, genomics as well as cellular and molecular biology. On the clinical side, they have powered advancements in the testing and screening across the fields of reproductive health, genetic and rare diseases, and oncology.
The Role
Reporting to the Head of Media Relations, the role will be focusing on frequent engagement across Media in the EMEA region, and you will be proactive in developing stories, and in finding new ways and channels of sharing them in these regions. You must have strong skills with the media and excellent media contacts in the healthcare sector.
In addition to expertise in media relations, the successful candidate will also have a strong understanding of strategic organizational communications and must be able to gain the trust and respect of colleagues across the company, including senior leaders who will rely on your counsel for media engagement, this is 100% external-facing communications role.
The Person
- Significant relevant strategic, proactive communications and media relations experience with a focus on life sciences, clinical or healthcare (ethical)
- Experience of managing complex issues/crises with international dimensions
- Excellent writing capabilities, being able to drive content and manager thought leadership projects
- Excellent external communication skills
- Must have in-house PR experience
