The BMA, which supports doctors across the UK, is expanding the team and is looking for a Senior Media Officer to join the association on a fixed-term basis.

The BMA is looking for a talented, astute and experienced Senior Media Officer who can spot a really great story that needs to be told and who can think on their feet to develop persuasive but powerful messages to communicate the BMA`s position as the doctor`s trade union and a leading professional body.

As a Senior Media Officer for the BMA, you are guaranteed a varied and eventful working day. In any given week you could find yourself designing and leading the next big campaign, securing media coverage on most of the major print and broadcast organisations, through to managing a rapidly developing story on the latest health crisis.

In your new role you`ll need to be able to assess and execute the media activity on anything from our latest research on complex ethical issues such as abortion and clinically assisted hydration, through to political and policy issues on the state of the NHS and doctors` contracts.

We are looking for candidates with excellent judgement, drive and extensive experience in communications, public relations or journalism who will be creative in their own right but also willing to mentor and support junior team members. . We want individuals who bring energy, fresh ideas and new approaches to ensure that our team is constantly moving forward.
