I have an opportunity for a corporate affairs contractor. This is a fixed term contract, ideally starting in early February, and running for four to five months. The role will be carried out working remotely.
My client is a non-profit, mission-driven organisation, focused on increasing UK productivity, specifically amongst small and mid-sized businesses. Its programmes seek to improve the supply of business support, with areas like the adoption of technology and improved leadership and management practices being key components.
It is looking for a Senior Communications Manager (£55-70k pro rata) to deliver communications workstreams across a range of its programmes and themes, to ensure high cut through and profile for the company with key target audiences.
It's a role with a broad remit, including media relations and thought leadership, social media, policy, digital campaigning, partner comms and managing stakeholder events. There is likely to be one major campaign which you will own, along side other ad hoc projects.
Key criteria includes:
- experience in dealing with, and sophisticated understanding of, media, social media, policy and public affairs stakeholders
- experience of working across integrated communications campaigns through the spectrum of paid/owned/earned/social channels with tangible results
- experience of working across public affairs and policy campaigns with tangible results
- good time management with an ability to juggle multiple priorities and competing demands, in a fast-paced environment
This is an organisation that houses a lot of smart, switched on people, drawn from a mixture of think tank, comms agency, management consultancy, and government department backgrounds. It punches far above its weight in terms of media coverage and political grit.
