Account Executive / Senior Account Executive – Public Affairs

An established strategic communications consultancy is looking for a versatile Public Affairs Account Executive / Senior Account Executive to join their close-knit team. Working across a variety of well-known organisations, this role is the ideal opportunity for a junior candidate looking to make their mark within a high-calibre team and gain top tier exposure to client advisory and political engagement.

The successful candidate will have a demonstrable knowledge of politics and current affairs, understand who’s who in parliament and what their various opinions are, and be hungry to learn how public affairs ties into wider comms strategies and corporate reputation work.

Responsibilities:

• Drafting client documentation including messaging, letters, and meeting agendas
• Researching and preparing briefings on complex policy issues for clients and internal use
• Shadowing senior team members during client meetings and calls to build a solid understanding of how the client / consultant relationship works
• Stakeholder mapping to enable clients to be thoroughly briefed and accurately advised
• Political monitoring to ensure both the team, and clients are kept up to date of key developments

Requirements:

• Proven public affairs experience, either in an agency environment or working for a MP
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• High standard of written work
• Comprehensive understanding of Westminster, the policy making process, and party politics
• Strong planning and prioritisation skills
