Do you have experience of creating and delivering successful communications strategies and campaigns, excellent understanding of social media platforms and ability to engage and promote good customer relations within a community?

As our Communications Manager, you will work with the Council’s Communications team and support their communication needs to help deliver promotion of and engagement with the Council’s broad range of strategic objectives and outcomes. You will provide communications advice and lead on the creation and progress of key messages from the Council’s departments as they transition out of the methods of working during COVID-19.

To be successful in this role, you will need to have ability to think creatively and strategically to be able to meet the communications objectives of each campaign.  You must have at least 2 years experience within a public sector communications role. You should be able to demonstrate the ability to create positive and constructive relationships with team members, officers, elected members and with peers across and outside the organisation.

The successful candidate will have a tactful and polite manner in responding to difficult customers on complex issues. You will also require the ability to exercise political sensitivity and clear judgement over organisational issues and developments, whilst maintaining effective relationships with officers, service delivery leads, and members on communications.

The post holder will predominantly work as part of the Communications team and will work collaboratively with council colleagues to improve customer service delivery and will be responsible for the website content management of pages created by the communications team. This role is based at the Council’s head offices at The Grange in Ely.
