Publicis Groupe UK is looking for a PR / communications manager to join an experienced and collaborative communications team, working daily across the biggest agencies within the creative practice including brands like Digitas, Leo Burnett, Publicis•Poke and Saatchi & Saatchi to build their reputations for creativity.

This is a role that will be full of variety, working alongside CEOs and creative leaders to enhance the reputation of some of the best known creative agencies in the world. We are looking for an experienced comms professional with natural gravitas and a track record of developing and delivering communications strategies to achieve results. We’d like to hear from strong writers and creative thinkers, who bring experience of working in complex organisations or managing several clients.

The role sits in the wider Publicis Groupe UK Communications team and the successful applicant will work closely with the Head of External Communications for the creative practice and be responsible for executing the external communications strategy for agencies including Digitas.  

Responsibilities include: 

  • Develop and deliver strategies to build reputation among target audiences.
  • Hands on media relations, pitching features, profile and opinion pieces.
  • Build and nurture relationships with target journalists.
  • Build relationships with internal stakeholders from across the business to build trust and demonstrate the value of communications.
  • Write press releases, reactive statements and Q&As.
  • You will lead initiatives and campaigns with the support of the Head of External Communications. 
  • You will proactively source opportunities for creative agency brands to comment on topics and issues that are relevant to their business / their clients businesses. 
  • You will identify and secure speaker opportunities and panel opportunities.
  • Work as part of the communications team to amplify comms efforts on social media and internal channels.
  • Identify better ways to do things, constantly striving for excellence and efficiency.
  • Regular reporting to ensure alignment with stakeholders.

Ideal skills and attributes include: 

  • Self-starter and proactive, you are happy working independently and taking the lead on assigned projects. 
  • Demonstrable experience of delivering communication and marketing campaigns to internal and external audiences. 
  • Organised, meticulous about meeting deadlines with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to think on your feet, work in an agile manner and adapt to changing requests. 
  • A great communicator and collaborator, with people of all levels.
  • Engaging, positive with an infectious enthusiasm, someone that people naturally gravitate to, want to be around and work with.
  • Commercially astute, actively interested and abreast of emerging trends. 
  • A proven team player, with the ability to remain flexible. 
  • Excellent written English. 
  • Digitally savvy and passionate about communications.
  • Extensive corporate and b2b media relations experience within a communications agency environment or inhouse capacity.
