Background to Smarts
Smarts is an integrated PR & Content agency with nearly 100 people in London, Belfast, Edinburgh, Glasgow and, most recently, New York. Our clients include Johnnie Walker, Ciroc, Zalando, Carlsberg, Bosch, Siemens, MSC Cruises to name a few. Over the years we have grown from a traditional PR agency into one with expertise not only in media relations but also influencer partnerships, social, digital, content creation and more.
Smarts London team
Smarts’ London office is just over five years old with a team who are full of energy and experience. We work very closely with our Belfast office as part of an integrated team.
We are also part of a wider group, MSQ Partners and share an office with over 200+ other marketeers within MSQ. This gives us access to loads of different creative and strategic minds and a real sense of community.

This role
This role is to be based in our London office, but with the flexibility to work remotely 2 - 3 days a week. When the world gets back to normal, we will be working, alongside our teammates in MSQ in our shiny new office in Covent Garden on Bow St overlooking the Opera House.
We’re looking for an Account Executive or Senior Account Executive with a few years’ experience, a can-do attitude and fire in their belly. Naturally curious and tuned into cultural conversations, they need to enjoy pitching stories to media and truly love the industry.
They will be working on brands such as Johnnie Walker, Bosch and Siemens, and organisations such as Defra, for whom we deliver integrated food, drink and nature campaigns.
The remit for these clients is varied – from selling in stories to media, writing press releases and blog posts to developing ideas, identifying influencers and working with our in-house content creators.
Skill set
We are looking for cultural fit – someone with a can-do attitude and is curious and committed. In terms of skill sets, the following are the most important:
- A love for the media - the ability to sell in and get coverage
- Tuned in culturally to what’s going on in the wider world
- Strong copywriting - press releases, web-copy, social and blog posts
- Organisational skills
- Confident and comfortable with clients
- Ability to write slides for a deck
- Experience in identifying influencers – or the willingness to learn!
- Experience working for food and drink clients is a nice to have
