The Role

  • Join a team of eleven communications professionals, as part of a wider 21-person top-ranked agency
  • Predominant focus on retained financial services clients and related industries
  • Deputise for senior team members as necessary, supported to show initiative and drive to delight financial services clients
  • Monitor performance of day-to-day client communications programmes, challenge and propose where appropriate
  • Collaboratively generate content and own the sell-in process of stories, articles, content and releases for financial services clients – take the initiative to drive successful placement, making sure it is always aligned with the clients’ business objectives
  • Provide meaningful contribution to development of client communications programmes and support the team to identify touchpoints for clients, always ensuring high quality delivery
  • Draft and distil detailed, complex materials for internal, client and external consumption that require minimal to no amendments
  • Source and analyse market intelligence for clients to aid new business generation
  • Conduct background research and help with the development and composition of new business pitches
  • Networking – maintain and grow relevant financial services media and contacts within the Wealth Management, IFA, banking and Fund Management industries (access to corporate expenses available)
  • Assist with the development of junior members of the team, being an internal ambassador for the agency to ensure core values and best practices are adopted and shared
  • Commit to progress and undertake training
  • Join and contribute effectively to new business pitches and support proposals

The Person

  • A confident, natural communicator that is well versed in wealth management adept at building rapport among financial services clients
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skillsets.
  • Ability to formulate Press Releases and Press Statements to the financial services sector with accuracy and maintain press lists for wealth management and IFA space in particular.
  • Strong understanding of financial services communications and the delivery channels to a wide variety of client stakeholders
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritise workstreams and delegate tasks accordingly; calm under pressure
  • Understanding the influence of complementary communications disciplines to client work – identifying avenues of monetising on multi-disciplinary offering, in particular website design, infographics, high-impact social media etc.
  • A confident communicator with high attention to detail and an analytical approachto financial services and the inter-connectivity of the City
  • Committed to continually deliver work of the highest quality for demanding, precise financial services clients
  • Resourceful and entrepreneurial – especially with the changing financial services media landscape

Attributes:

  • Understanding of key financial services terms around wealth management
  • Knowledge of the financial services media – in particular, financial services trade publications, online outlets and national business desks
  • Presentable to demanding clients
  • A self-starter that wants to progress and take on increasing account management responsibility
  • Keen to learn and adapt as financial markets change with an interest in Fintech and Regtech
  • Knowledge of mid-market wealth managers, D2C, the fund management industry and the IFA space including IFA platforms

Preferred experience

  • Minimum two years working within the financial services industry either in-house or within an agency
  • Wealth/Fund/Investment Management experience or exposure to working with IFAs or Networks highly desirable
  • Knowledge of the D2C Retail Platform space in the UK
  • Worked in or around financial services in an advisory or in-house position and keen to progress and to accept increasing responsibility
  • Proven track record of pitch success or supporting on pitches to the financial services industry
