Job Details

Communications Manager required for global IT Management company to help shape and create internal and external communications.

The company

A global powerhouse in their field, this leading company is working at the forefront of creating sustainable IT infrastructure and services. As Communications Manager you will be focused on producing world class communications for a group which employs just under 500 employees in numerous locations spanning multiple countries.

With a recent re-brand and a purpose-led story focusing on CSR and sustainability, this organisation is putting communications at the core of what they do and this is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of the comms function at a group level.

The Group Communications Manager role

Reporting to the Group Marketing Director, the Group Communications Manager will be responsible for both internal and external communications globally, working closely with local marketing teams and line managing a Communications Executive.

The Group Communications Manager role is roughly split as follows:

  • 60% external PR and comms – focusing on telling the brand story and purpose (with an emphasis on sustainability and CSR) and selling the value of sustainable IT solutions to mid-market businesses.
  • 30% internal comms – again getting everyone buying into the company purpose as well as ensuring engagement and interaction across the global offices
  • 10% Chief Executive comms – working with the Chief Exec on scripts, presentations, speaker opportunities and key messaging and generally raising their profile.

About you

The new Group Communications Manager should have circa 8-10 years experience working in corporate communications, ideally across PR, media, content writing, internal communications and brand messaging. You could currently be agency or in house, but you'll need to have had in house experience at some point and you must be able to manage communications end-to-end and relish the autonomy to make things happen.

Additional skills of the Group Communications Manager:

  • A passion for sustainability and purpose-led comms, ideally having worked on a CSR plan / project from a comms perspective
  • Ideally experience working in technology PR
  • Global PR experience
  • Experience directly working with and advising senior stakeholders at c-suite level

In return

The new Group Communications Manager can expect a basic salary of circa £60k - £80k, depending on experience, plus a bonus, pension and 25 days holiday.

The role is a home based role, meaning you can work remotely whenever needed. However the UK head office is on the M4 Corridor, so you should be willing to travel there for any internal meetings. The global HQ is in Europe, and you will likely travel there once a month.

If you are interested in this Group Communications Manager role and have the relevant skills and experience, or want to find out about other available roles, please do not hesitate to contact Alex Lewington on [email protected] or 0203 826 1222.
