The postholder is responsible for the design and delivery of the Inquiry events schedule through its final year.  

The postholder will require good project management skills, to be highly organised and have the ability to deliver through others in order to meet challenging deadlines. The postholder will be required to carry out regular and effective engagement with senior internal and external stakeholders as well as victims and survivors of child sexual abuse. You will be part of a small, supportive and diverse team. We welcome applications from candidates with transferable skills, a desire to learn and a can-do attitude. Support and training will be made available.  

As a Senior Engagement and Events Officer, working to tight deadline and using your strong organisational skills, you will: 

  • Leading the planning, preparation and delivery of the Inquiry events schedule including a series of events specifically for Inquiry Forum members.
  • Lead on event logistics for events including event registration, coordination of speakers, and online technical support.
  • Act as the coordination point for all external event opportunities through the External Events Group, providing advice and support to those wishing to present at events and being responsible for cross Inquiry consultation about opportunities.
  • Provide current and up-to-date Inquiry presentation slides to those giving presentations.
  • Build and maintain relationships with colleagues and teams across the Inquiry to help develop and deliver events.
  • Carry out robust evaluation following events to ensure events activity is regularly reviewed and developed, ensuring the feedback loop is completed.
  • Delegate work across the team effectively and regularly reviewing project trackers to ensure deadlines and milestones are met.

Please note you may need to travel for the delivery of events at certain times across the year. 

What we are looking for: 

The successful candidate will have proven event delivery skills, both online (Zoom) and in person. In your application you will need to demonstrate excellent operational management, delivery, and stakeholder engagement skills, including the ability to persuade and influence both internal and external stakeholders.
