Movember is the leading charity changing the face of men’s health globally, tackling mental health and suicide prevention, prostate cancer, testicular cancer.

In our mission to stop men dying too young, we’re seeking a passionate Public Relations Executive to join our London based team. We encourage applications from all backgrounds and communities and are committed to having a team that is made up of diverse skills, experiences and abilities.

Reporting to the PR Manager, you’ll execute impactful public relations and marketing activities to support the 2021 Movember campaign and World Suicide Prevention Day. You’ll help drive key initiatives from the Movember campaign with our target audiences and showcase Movember’s impact. You’ll be an enthusiast of moustaches and PR, with a nose for what makes a great story.

You’ll have the opportunity to:

  • Work with the PR Manager to bring the PR calendar to life.
  • Be the day-to-day contact for Movember’s PR agencies in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Spain and France.
  • Assist with the day-to-day handling of incoming media inquiries across a range of press including broadcast, digital and print, including booking and planning radio and TV interviews.
  • Prepare draft press releases and organise reactive comments from Movember spokespeople for the media.
  • Create engaging content for press with the aim of leading the news agenda.
  • Interview members of the Movember community to gather stories and content for media and other opportunities.
  • Monitor online mentions of Movember, competitors, and the wider men’s health space.
  • Manage tracking and analysis of Movember’s media coverage.
  • Create custom outreach and thank you packages for Movember supporters and maintain ambassador and spokesperson databases.
  • Event coordination & support.

For this role, you’ll need

  • 2+ years’ experience working in a busy PR team or agency environment
  • Proficiency in German
  • Solid understanding of different types of media (long lead vs. short lead and print, online, broadcast)
  • A strong understanding of the UK media landscape, with good contacts in national and regional press, as well as men’s lifestyle titles
  • To be comfortable pitching to media on the phone and in-person
  • Excellent writing and communication skills
  • To be a self-starter, highly organized and detail oriented
