Senior Corporate Communications Manager

A fixed term opportunity to provide maternity cover, the Senior Corporate Communications Manager is responsible for leading on integrated PR and communications for the University.    

The Senior Corporate Communications Manager leads and manages a professional team comprising PR and media relations, public affairs and staff and student communications and advises upon and supports delivery of leadership communications for the Vice-Chancellor’s Office and the University’s senior management team.

This role requires substantial media and communications experience in order to offer expertise on messaging and lines to take, to ensure our corporate voice is heard and our reputation enhanced to demonstrate our strengths and successes. You will be responsible for motivating a team to deliver impactful targets including media coverage, staff engagement and student survey response rates. You will oversee the creation and distribution of subsequent content to portray unique and compelling content for news media channels, staff and student platforms which are aligned and allied to the University’s strategic priorities.

Working collaboratively with other managers and the Head of Marketing and Communications, you will form part of a crisis communications response team. You will also measure outputs and outcomes, and lead the delivery of a regular reporting process on key performance indicators for the Communications team and the Board of Governors. Your managerial influence will ensure strategic thinking turns into forward planning, encourages an agile and responsive working culture and delivers results to support an ever-changing operating environment and business model.
