Director of Media, PR and Artists

£75,000pa

Woking, Surrey

Our planet is in peril and as the world’s leading independent conservation organisation, we are on a mission to make our voice the loudest and most respected in helping to save the planet and provide a future where people and nature thrive.

At WWF we have incredible opportunity for an accomplished media and PR senior professional to join us as our Director of Media, PR & Artists and be part of a senior leadership team at the forefront of driving change.

As Director of Media, PR and Artists, we will look to you to spearhead our media and PR engagement, with a focus on delivering extensive, bold and relevant coverage across all media.  This will involve driving high awareness and engagement of the brand through media, PR, artists and influencers as well as supporting high impact campaigns with integrated and powerful communications strategies. You will also provide media advice and reputation management at the highest level. Importantly, you will play a critical role in delivering our ambitious strategy to grow support over the next three years by generating the most creative ideas to engage and attract new audiences as well as extend our reach into new media arenas. You will develop more and deeper relationships across all media, especially at editor level, too.

To play your part in saving our planet, you must hold a relevant qualification and be a senior media and PR professional with extensive experience of operating at the highest levels. You will have an in-depth understanding of how the media works and a track record of using the media to influence decision makers and deliver successful fundraising and advocacy campaigns. Expert at launching short and long-term PR campaigns you will have an in-depth understanding of digital platforms, social media and their audiences. You will also be used to working and building relationships with journalists and influential senior editors as well as artists and influencers.

Skilled at managing budgets, you will be effective at motivating and building high performing teams. A consummate communicator you will also excel at building relationships and networking. Of course, you will be able to demonstrate a commitment to the natural world and WWF’s core mission too.

If you have the expertise and talents to inspire our team to find, gather and tell stories that drive our agenda and show the work we do, we would love to hear from you. Please visit our website via the link, complete the online registration and submit a copy of your up-to-date CV with the Supporting Statement highlighting what makes you a good fit for us.

Every role at WWF is open to applications from all sections of society. We believe in the potential of everyone regardless of; sex, race, religion or belief, ethnic origin, different physical ability, family structure, socio-economics, age, nationality or citizenship, marital, domestic or civil partnership, sexual orientation, gender identity, or any other aspect that makes you, well you.  Here at WWF, we are committed to conscious inclusion that helps cultivate an ethos of belonging, connection and shared purpose.  We believe that the more diverse we are the better we become; this brings us together and empowers us to develop, engage and inspire; and critically to help build a future where people can live in harmony with nature.

Our policies and benefits reflect the importance of people being able to have a good work-life balance and being able to bring their ‘full self’ to work.

Our world needs you like never before. We are the first generation to know we are destroying the world and we could be the last that can do anything about it. We are looking for people who are passionate about making it politically, socially and economically unacceptable to destroy our planet’s natural resources. We need you to join us in the fight for our world.

Company

Best known as the world’s leading conservation body, we’ve seen first-hand how wildlife, the environment and human activity are all interlinked.

That’s why our passion for safeguarding the natural world has to be backed up by other environmental action – tackling the global threat of climate change (through our big global campaigns like Earth Hour) and helping people to change the way they live to ease pressure on natural resources.

WWF is at the heart of global activities in all these areas. We have teams of highly skilled professionals working with governments, businesses and communities here in the UK and around the world.
