One of the most successful consultancies of the last decade is keen to hire a PA Director to help continue to build and evolve the public affairs offer. Specialising in reputational communications, the company’s fundamental philosophy is to deliver fully integrated programmes for businesses looking to influence their audiences across business, consumer and political spheres. This might not sound unusual, but the company was built from the ground up to deliver against this model, not mashed together retrospectively.
Client growth and a continuous new business win rate, means an additional director is sought to join an already highly skilled and industry-acclaimed team. You'll need to have an understanding of policy process, as well as an enlightened view of current day politics, and would be expected to bring strong connectivity across Government, Whitehall and/or Parliament. Of course you’ll be capable of high level public affairs counsel, rooted in commercial imperatives, and be clear about the interconnection with business and the City. Strong client skills and an analytical mind are essential. And you’ll need the commercial, leadership and new business skills to add value from day one. Sector specialisms include retail, FMCG, energy, infrastructure, transport and property, so policy knowledge across any or all would be great.
You might have grown your experience in Westminster, think tanks and/or inhouse government affairs units, but a decent stint in a reputable consultancy, and the ability to develop public affairs strategies and campaigns that help deliver the business strategy for some of the world’s best known brands and FTSE listed companies, is essential.
This is a chance to be part of an award-winning team and a company with a genuinely embracing and empowering culture.
