Job Details

Relaxed, flexible agency specialising in brand building and exposure for start ups.

This agency was established four years ago after their founder wanted to create a consultancy that promised to treat employees with respect, give employees freedom and trust, and generally be a lovely place to work! Their speciality is working with start up and scale up businesses, both consumer and B2B. Their clients are typically VC backed tech companies that are industry disruptors, covering online retailers, health-tech, lifestyle tech and charities.

They're currently a small, close knit team with huge opportunities to progress. Progression is on merit (rather than having to wait for a specific time period) and therefore generally quick; for example their SAM joined as an entry level AE 3 years ago.

Their culture is one of trust - there's absolutely no micro-management and the team have the freedom to work how they want. It's very relaxed and perfect for those that want more responsibility and exposure.

The Account Manager role

The agency is looking for either an experienced SAE or established Account Manager to work across a variety of their clients, predominantly in the innovative, start up space. This person will have a focus on the consumer side of the business, however the team works very collaboratively together and they don't have siloed portfolios. Given the entrepreneurial and flexible nature of the agency, they are also very happy for candidates to come with their own areas of interest that they would like to develop, and then work with them to help win clients in that space - a super exciting opportunity for someone that's looking to carve a career for themselves in a particular area.

You will be overseeing SAEs and AEs on accounts and report directly into the founder, who is hands on with help and support. However she is looking for someone that she can rely on to give responsibility to manage the accounts with autonomy. There's plenty of opportunity for progression and they typically like to promote from within, so this person can expect to be promoted quickly, becoming a key member of the senior team as the business continues to grow

Key requirements:

  • Experience in PR at Senior Account Executive or Account Manager level
  • Excellent writing skills, including experience writing thought leadership pieces
  • Strong media relations skills, having placed coverage in national and trade media
  • An interest in or experience with start up / scale up businesses
  • Benefits include:

  • Basic salary up to £39,000, dependent on experience
  • Unlimited annual leave
  • Generous commission for new business
  • Office two days a week, 3 days from wherever suits
  • Pension
  • Half a day off every other week
  • If this Account Manager role sounds of interest, please contact Alex Lewington on [email protected] or apply now.
