Climate Arc's mission is to accelerate the transition of the world towards meeting global net zero emissions by no later than 2050, and, in doing so, help to create a sustainable and healthy planet for everyone. Climate Arc is founded on the belief that this can only be achieved if the transition is financed at the scale and speed needed according to the latest climate science, including focusing on the need for near-term action.

Climate Arc will be unique to the philanthropic community in working with the entire financial system to address climate change at speed and scale. It will combine three critical functions: 1) granting to other organisations, adding much needed capacity and strategy to the sustainable finance community; 2) in-house programmes, including a database platform and incubation for regional finance capacities, to address the most urgent challenges in the financial system; and 3) convening funders, practitioners and other stakeholders.

This is an exciting opportunity to develop and communicate the much-needed narrative on the role of finance in meeting the climate goal and be part of the solutions to achieve it.

You will establish and execute Climate Arc's communications strategy, starting with development of its brand, website, collaterals and establishing regular communication channels with key stakeholders. This is a unique opportunity to shape the organisation during its start-up phase and make a lasting impact on the climate community.

Key to success in the role will be the creation of high-quality materials which distil complex concepts for a non-expert audience. Finance specific experience isn't essential, the ability to challenge and cut through jargon is. You must also bring the ability to empathise with and engage diverse stakeholders with varied views and be an excellent storyteller capable of developing, commissioning and fine-tuning compelling narratives.

It would be great if you have past exposure to financial communications, in particular around environmental, social and governance (ESG) investing, although enthusiasm address climate change and willingness to learn is more important.

Closing date: 9th December 2021
