The Department of Health & Social Care (DHSC) works across public health, the NHS and adult social care, covering one of the widest remits in the public sector. It is responsible for ensuring everyone can access the health and care they need – from supporting people to have the best start in life to staying in good health and living as independently as they can. We are also central to the government’s response to COVID-19 the biggest challenge the country has faced in a lifetime.
This makes this role one of the most exciting, varied and challenging roles in communications. You will communicate with an audience of around three million health and social care employees, as well as approximately 56 million people who, at some point in their lives, rely on the health and social care service.
You will lead a team that works on everything from working with partners to communicate key information on COVID-19 to the social care workforce, to overseeing research projects, to running campaigns to encourage women throughout the country to come forward and submit evidence about their experiences of health.
We are looking for someone with a proven track record of leading high performing teams and driving continuous improvement. We want an inspirational leader who leads from the front, creating a culture of learning and development, which fosters innovation and creative thinking. You will be doing this not just in your own team but alongside your peers for the benefit of the whole Communications Division.
