Head of Public Affairs (Group)
The past two years have had a huge impact on the aviation industry, and although borders have opened and customers are returning, a multitude of challenges remain and the aviation industry also needs to focus on returning to growth in a responsible way, minimizing their impact on the environment.
As Head of Public Affairs (Group) for this leading group within the aviation industry, you will be responsible for leading on Group-wide public affairs activity, policies and issues and leading on engagement with central Government in Westminster and Whitehall.
The Head of Public Affairs will be an effective and persuasive relationship builder, with an excellent grasp of the policy issues and challenges within a similarly complex, heavily regulated industry.
With a team of two direct reports and working within the wider Corporate Affairs team, alongside regional specialist public affairs leads, the Head of Public Affairs for the Group will be developing and delivering a programme of activities to achieve strategic goals. The role also represents the organisation in high-profile public forums and works closely with industry partners and trade bodies.
Knowledge, Experience and Skills:
Developing and delivering public affairs strategies and influencing campaigns
Working with senior politicians, with examples of ability to influence policy development
Proven ability to understand policy implications and opportunities
Experience within heavily regulated and complex environments, including but not limited to; transport and infrastructure
Experience of leading teams directly and/or indirectly within a public affairs environment
Ability to operate and engage at executive committee and senior leadership team level
Based in London, with some travel in UK required.
