We are seeking to appoint a Chief Communications and Marketing Officer who will be the Executive Lead on the development and delivery of an effective, integrated communications and marketing strategy to achieve the University’s 2030 vision and its key strategic priorities. As a member of the University Executive Leadership Team working closely with all senior leaders across the University, the role holder will ensure the alignment of marketing and communications plans and priorities, as well as provide high level support and advice to the Vice-Chancellor and the Vice-Chancellor’s office. The role holder will support the organisation internally in driving change and innovation at all levels; acting as the ‘thought leader’ for all strategic marketing and communications. Externally, they will be a key spokesperson for Warwick and will protect, promote and enhance the University’s reputation regionally, nationally and internationally, establishing it as a global player with target audiences. They will support the achievement of income generation objectives to ensure financial sustainability through student recruitment and commercial activities.
The successful candidate will be credible at Board level and have highly developed intellect and emotional intelligence. They will have a proven track record of building effective relationships across a broad range of complex stakeholders, internally and externally. With an in-depth understanding of all the communications and marketing disciplines, they will also bring experience of leading a high performing communications and marketing function in a large, complex organisation. They will have a passion for the transformative power of education and a record of contributing to an inclusive workplace, for valuing diverse opinions and promoting best practice in equality, diversity and inclusion.
