Cunard has a rich heritage as well as exciting plans for the future with a fourth ship, Queen Anne, soon to join the fleet. It’s an exciting time to join us as we shape our future! A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join as the Director of our PR team .

The Role

In this role you will be responsible for raising the profile of Cunard as an iconic luxury brand across all forms of media from lifestyle to broadcast to industry.  This will involve developing a PR and supporting events strategy at a global level with direct responsibility for its implementation in the UK and the coordination of plans and activity across markets.

You will ensure that there is a calendar of engaging stories that raise awareness and reinforce and build upon Cunard’s brand values. Where possible the ambition is to create ‘master stories’ once, that are deployed globally across media and other channels (e.g. CRM, the brand website).

You will develop a suite of shoreside and onboard PR/experiential events that bring the brand to life and/or support PR activations and brand partnerships.

You will work closely and collaboratively with other Carnival UK departments and support their activity through PR/media relations and you will be the Cunard crisis/issues communications lead.

You will be responsible for rigorous budgetary planning and monthly cost control for the Cunard UK PR budget and provide day to day management coaching and support to the PR team members.

About You

To be successful in this role you will have significant senior level Public Relations experience at a high profile brand/agency, preferably within the leisure/service industry.

You will have the ability to communicate complex messages in a simple way to the broader business as well as have a positive approach with a high degree of pragmatism and resilience.

In addition you will have proven relationship management skills and be a natural at building multi-faceted relationships with the media, third parties and teams across the organisation.

We have experts across advertising, CRM, brand, PR, digital, loyalty and the creative studio who work together collaboratively to create unforgettable holiday happiness.  Our sales teams develop and grow partnerships ensuring they have the finest knowledge of our products.
