NEW in-house Communications Manager position with a leading independent institute backed by government with the aim to accelerate the transition to a net-zero carbon & climate-resilient economy.

Our client is now looking to hire a new Communications Manager to the team.

- Title: Communications Manager
- Reporting into: Head of Communications
- Salary: £45,000-£55,000 depending on level and experience.
- Flexi/hybrid working: They are extremely flexible with their staff and do not expect you to be in the office every day. Most of the team go in c. 1 day a week, sometimes more if needed. You will be expected to be in London for key events/meetings etc.
Essential experience:
- A strong understanding of the importance of strategic communications in supporting the delivery of their mission by helping to build strategic alignment across the Institute, and their many stakeholders.
- An ability to successfully coordinate and run projects and events within a set budget with an outstanding focus on quality and project follow-through.
- A strong, independent work ethic.
- Outstanding interpersonal and relationship building skills with partner organisations, senior-level officials, and influencers.
- Organisational skills including strong capacity to coordinate simultaneous projects and successfully prioritise tasks with sound judgment within a collaborative and fast-paced start-up organisation.
- Creative flair and ability to translate technical content into innovative and engaging campaigns.
- A thorough understanding of social media best practice across Twitter and LinkedIn in particular.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills and attention to detail, with a proven capacity to translate information and big ideas into actionable plans.
- Willingness to participate in both critical thinking and administrative tasks.
- Experience of working in financial services – and a keen interest in advancing sustainable finance.
- Self-motivated and brings a strong positivity/energy to the team.
Key duties:
- Supporting the development and delivery of creative and strategic communications strategies across programmes and corporate communications;
- Co-ordinating and project managing day-to-day communications activity, working with priority stakeholders across media and digital;
- Management of two communications agencies to drive forward workflow, supported by Head of Communications;
- Monitoring and reporting on communications impact and insights; Coordinating, managing and undertaking media monitoring and horizon scanning, overseeing work of their communications agencies;
- Producing high quality, well-written and accurate communications content for a range of audiences and channels;
- Supporting on the delivery of digital thought leadership, digital content, paid content - providing digital advisory, including expert guidance on trends in the marketplace;
- Supporting the launch of reports, partnerships, campaigns and new financial products;
- Managing and building strong relationships with media and stakeholders - proactively seeking out and identifying media opportunities that promote and protect the integrity of the company.
- As part of a small team, you will also need to be flexible and be willing to undertake tasks to support the wider activities of the Institute, when required.
