Objective of role:  Assisting in the planning, communication, coordination and successful implementation of a major industry campaign

Other details:  A national trade association is looking for fixed term contract (3 months) Campaign officer to work with the communications team on delivering an industry led awareness campaign.

The role requires the ability to be self-sufficient and motivated, the confidence to deal with multiple stakeholders, and the ability to manage complex and sometimes technical information.

Ideally the candidate will have already worked within a membership organisation, an agency environment or within an industry sector.

The role will be 5 days a week for a three month period, primarily home-based, with requirements for meeting the Head of Communications at least twice a month (London based).

 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

General

  • Assisting in the shaping, designing and supporting day-to-day management of major industry awareness campaign
  • Providing strategic comms and external stakeholder input
  • Active and regular engagement with the media (national and local), government, members and related industry bodies
  • Supporting and coordinating industry communications and stakeholder relations on all campaign activity to achieve maximum positive impact
  • Developing and implementing an effective communications and strategic plan for the campaign
  • Working closely with leadership team and industry contacts and comms colleagues to manage day-to-day campaign delivery, identify communications opportunities and ensure alignment of activity with overall campaigns strategy

Essential

  • At least 5 years plus experience working in a public relations or campaigns management role with tangible results in embedding a product, service or campaign into the national and vertical framework.
  • Qualified up to degree level
  • Demonstrable experience of building relationships with key contacts within media
  • Excellent writing skills.
  • Good understanding of social media and how it can be used to build and maintain a successful campaign

Desirable

  • Experience working for a trade association or representative body
  • Knowledge of the security industry
  • Existing contacts within national and regional press
