They are now looking for a part-time Communications Officer to join them on a permanent basis working 29.6 hours per week.

The Role
As a Communications Officer you will be responsible for promoting and enhancing the public image of our client’s organisation.
Specifically, you will manage their public relations, digital media and social media activity in a manner that embodies the values of their organisation.
You will provide media and PR expertise allowing for the development of a media and PR strategy that raises the profile of their organisation and facilitates the dissemination of their key organisational messages.
Additionally, you will:
- Plan and co-ordinate a varied programme of high-quality communications aligned to corporate priorities
- Seek to develop positive relationships internally and externally to enhance their service delivery to key partners
- Manage the production of flagship publications advocating the benefits of designation
- Represent their organisation on appropriate external groups, requiring occasional travel to other locations
About You
To be considered as a Communications Officer, you will need:
- Experience of handling media enquiries and media relations, including press releases and statements
- Experience of social media management across multiple channels including digital campaigns
- Demonstrable ability to write with creative flare for a variety of audiences and/or publications
- A good understanding of the purpose and designation of UK National Parks
- Excellent time and project management skills
- Competent IT user (particularly Microsoft) including latest online and social media tools
- The ability to travel within the Exmoor area and work occasional weekends and evenings
- To be educated to degree level (or equivalent) in a relevant subject
Ideally, you will have experience in communications projects involving issues management or complex stakeholder profiles. A PR or communications qualification (or equivalent experience) would also be advantageous.
