An incredibly rare in-house opportunity has arisen for a Communications & Engagement Officer to join one of London's most historic and prestigious organisations.

This is a wonderful opportunity for a Communications & Engagement  Officer to join a company steeped in British history - one of London's esteemed livery companies. It was set up as a member's association specifically to support doctors, nurses, pharmacists, and other health professionals, with the purpose of furthering education, research and innovation in the medical field. Today, the organisation offers an array of services, from charitable activities to educational courses, award ceremonies and social events. This is a newly created Communications & Engagement Officer role to help maintain effective engagement between the organisation, its members and external audiences.

Key responsibilities for the Communications & Engagement Officer

  • Oversee the content of all marketing materials for the organisation, including visual and written content
  • Write content for all owned communication channels including website, newsletters, social media
  • Where appropriate share positive news stories with relevant media
  • Counsel team on any reputational management matters as they arise
  • Share news of all the organisations services to drive attendance

The ideal Communications & Engagement Officer

  • Comfortable working independently with little oversight
  • Experience working with a trade body or member's association, or charity would be advantageous
  • Confident writer with good attention to detail
  • Confident coming up with content ideas for digital and traditional media channels
  • A strategic thinker able to advice, counsel and coach team members who are not in communications  
  • Experience pitching stories to local, national and trade media outlets
  • A minimum of three years experience working in a communications role

What the Communications & Engagement Officer gets in return:

  • The Communications & Engagement Officer will receive a salary of up to £32,000 DOE
  • Flexible working 3 days in the office 2 days at home
  • Matched pension contribution of up to 10% of salary
  • 28 days holiday excluding public holiday
