This is a departure from the norm for me, but I'm working with a client in the comms space who is looking for an exceptional Talent and People Director.
My client is a sizeable employee-owned corporate communications and creative agency, specialising in reporting, brand, digital, employee engagement, change and sustainability.
It's a deeply impressive and extremely well respected business which has always strived to be the agency of choice for ambitious talent. However, what’s got them to this point isn’t what is going to get them to their next destination. And it knows that to continue to thrive it must be prepared to challenge itself.
To achieve its goals alongside its experienced, specialist teams, it will need to attract skills and perspectives outside its comfort zone, and ensure it inspires people to build a career with them. To achieve this, it is expanding and refreshing its thinking around talent and people management, and appointing a new leader of this area – its Talent and People Director.
With an understanding of the drivers of overall business performance, this role sits at the heart of ensuring that aligned to its culture and values, its people are engaged, developed and supported. Reporting directly to the joint Chief Executives, you will sit on the Executive Team and attend Board meeting as required.
Key requirements include:
- An experienced practitioner with specific expertise in both HR business partnership and talent management
- Experience of working in an HR function within a similar environment: for example an agency, consultancy or professional services background
- A strong knowledge of best-in-class recruitment, development and career development
- A track record of ownership of a clear employer brand and proposition that maximises opportunities to attract and retain top talent
