About the role
The Media Manager Role is a critical part of the team delivering the media activity for Drax Group in the UK and supports the Head of Media and PR in implementing the broader reputational strategy for the Group, building engagement with journalists to support the delivery of Drax’s business objectives.
You’ll help deliver campaigns by working collaboratively with colleagues across the whole Group, including those in public affairs, digital, brand and strategic communications, internal, sustainability, commercial and community relations.
You’ll build relationships with journalists across a range of international, national, regional and trade media outlets in the UK.
You’ll have experience in a communications or journalism role, preferably within a high profile sector. You’ll have experience of developing content and stories for a range of media platforms, in a fast-paced environment.
You’ll have the ability to use your own initiative to spot and develop story ideas. You’ll be creative in telling these stories in an accessible way, to secure coverage in appropriate media outlets.
You’ll have strong influencing and negotiation skills as well as experience of managing supplier relationships, including working with external agencies and delivering against KPIs.
