Leeds - Main Campus

This role will be based on the university campus, with scope for it to be undertaken in a hybrid manner. We are also open to discussing flexible working arrangements.

Are you an exceptional internal communications and engagement specialist, with a proven track record of shaping and driving the delivery of innovative, engaging and dynamic staff communications within a complex environment?  Are you experienced in using multi-channel communications to deliver key strategic messages and drive meaningful engagement, empowering staff to deliver change?

The University of Leeds is one of the top 135 universities in the world.  We have a truly global community, with more than 39,000 students from 170 different countries and over 9,000 staff of 100 different nationalities.  Established in 1904, we have a strong tradition of academic excellence, reflected in first-class student education, along with world-leading research that has a real impact around the globe.

The Communications and Engagement team is responsible for furthering our global profile, protecting our reputation and creating communications and engagement opportunities for our diverse community of more than 9,000 staff and 38,000 students. Our vision is that our community of staff and students feel engaged and involved in the life of the University and understand our ambition, direction, and impact, and are empowered to collaborate in helping to shape our future.

Our 10-year strategy – Universal Values, Global Change – is a blueprint for a values-driven university and effective communications and engagement with our community and stakeholders is critical to the achievement of our ambition.  It’s an exciting time to join the University and help to embed our values and strategy, with the opportunity to shape and deliver internal communications that are purposeful and meaningful to our internal community.

We are seeking a highly experienced and self-motivated internal communications leader with a proven ability to build, manage and motivate teams and establish productive stakeholder relationships, and to create and successfully implement audience content, channel and audience strategies to engage and build internal communities, in a complex environment.
