Media Relations Manager

We're looking for an ambitious Media Relations Manager for one of our financial services clients; a fantastic opportunity for someone with a solid grounding in the discipline to join an established team and further develop their skills and experience in a high-profile sector.

As part of a broader Corporate Affairs function, you'll work as part of the Media Relations team supporting the business on a wide range of issues, both proactively and reactively. You'll develop close relationships with your business stakeholders, advising and informing their thinking. You'll also build strong relationships with the media and key external stakeholders, handling enquiries and working proactively to influence, inform and engage. Your role as a critical link between the business and the media will be instrumental in helping our client navigate reputational risk, raise their profile on key issues and position themselves as a trusted brand in the financial world. A varied role with high levels of autonomy and the potential to develop further within the team.

In terms of your background, you'll have a clear focus on external/media relations and/or PR (ideally within finance or other regulated markets), will of course possess excellent communications skills (across various channels, and in person) and will be knowledgeable, credible and approachable in building relationships. A clear thinker with an eye for a story, you'll be adept at shaping your message to your audience and making complex subject matter easy to understand. You'll have strong media connections and will be looking to build on these - and your interests and expertise - as you pursue your Media Relations career within the financial services sector.

The role is offered on a hybrid basis; a central London HQ with a regional presence, and flexibility to operate from both home and office.
