I have an exceptional opportunity for a Managing Director to join a strategic comms consultancy as it starts its next growth phase.
In a newly-formed role you will sit alongside the CEO, overseeing the senior leadership team, playing a major role in driving the agency towards ambitious growth targets, and potentially an exit beyond.
My client is a relatively new consultancy which has experienced remarkable success since the start of the pandemic, by deliberately challenging the status quo in the industry. Almost all its work has come through recommendations, having pitched just twice in three years, and there has been a very clear message from the market that they love what it stands for. In an agency world where so often everyone shouts about themselves, ultimately saying the same thing, this is an outfit focused quite simply on delivering an exceptional quality of work whilst making the clients the heroes. It is stripped back and hugely effective.
The team has stayed true to their original mission – choosing to partner solely with clients who want to have conversations that matter. Championing the institutions, companies and entrepreneurs who seek to solve problems. As such it’s all very much meaty issues based work, including around ESG and sustainability.
The CEO is keen to find someone who buys into who they are, where they are going, and the model they are working to. Someone with that element of ‘hustle’ that makes the business tick: that dynamic, entrepreneurial edge.
The role demands a senior practitioner with experience running and growing a fast paced business. The CEO is particularly strong on new business, clients and campaigning, so whilst someone who is similarly a strong comms practitioner at heart naturally appeals, what he is also looking for is expertise in running a business from the perspective of people and culture, operations and finance.
