Employing in excess of 24,000 highly skilled colleagues across its Submarines, Naval Ships, Maritime Services, Munitions and Australia businesses the Maritime and Land Sector is growing; and in order to best position itself to meet future challenges its Communications function is evolving to enhance and realign the delivery of integrated and proactive communications.

As a result we have created a number of brand new Communications Advisor positions across our team to support the planning and delivery of our corporate communications projects; enhance our reputation through our content creation, media and reputation strategy; develop innovate marcomms and customer communications; and business partner with leaders across our portfolio of complex defence technology programmes to showcase our people and the solutions, systems and products they deliver.

What you’ll be doing:

• Working with business stakeholders to understand our audiences and contribute to the development and delivery of effective and integrated communications plans
• Implementing our communications strategies through the delivery of content across a range of internal and external, traditional and emerging channels
• Evaluating the success of communications channels and activities to maximise our impact
• Understanding our business performance to maintain issues briefs, proactive messaging and lines to take
• Developing creative ideas for engagement activities and campaigns

Your skills and experiences:

• Strong communication, stakeholder management and diplomacy skills
• Excellent content creation, copywriting and creative communications planning ability
• The skill to turn complex subjects into accessible and engaging content
• Ideally CIPR or CIM qualified
• Educated within a communications related discipline or considerable work experience in an appropriate role
