An incredible opportunity for an MD to join this award winning integrated agency. Reporting into the CEO, this is an exciting opportunity to lead the day-to-day operation and performance of an award-winning PR Team; you are a real specialist and highly networked in either the financial services / insurance / technology (regulated sectors) sector, as well as being perceived as a senior heavyweight player by colleagues and clients and an inspirational leader for the team.

You can attract key accounts as well as providing strategic counsel. Your role includes strategic direction for the PR Team, new business development and other corporate responsibilities on behalf of the company. You believe that PR is evolving, you embrace digital tools and the opportunity to provide a fully integrated PR and marketing proposition to your clients.

Your new business responsibilities are:

  1. To be an active networker in the industry – bringing in business on own contacts
  2. To identify and develop new business opportunities as appropriate for new and existing clients
  3. To maximise involvement in new business activity deploying appropriate resources within the Group
  4. To develop and take advantage of opportunities to present company credentials
  5. To create incredible pitch documents and lead pitching activity as required
  6. Proactively take advantage of networking opportunities across the wider Group, with clients and general industry events.

 

Your financial responsibilities are:

 

  1. Responsible for the PR P&L, delivering targets for the year agreed and submitting updates to the business
  2. Maintain day-to-day financial control – ensuring budgets and costs controlled tightly and we maintain a minimum 20% margin
  3. Work with the CEO and Financial Director on monthly p&l and reporting to Group CEO of the group each month – ensuring any debt or financial impact is flagged well in advance
  4. Updating forecasts and plans each quarter

Your Team responsibilities are:

  1. To motivate and manage your team ensuring work is delivered to high standards
  2. To undertake regular reviews and identify training requirements for your direct reports
  3. Support management team on retention of staff to meet the needs of a specialist professional services PR company
  4. Collaborating with other Directors across the group to ensure opportunities are maximised for the group as a whole
  5. Ensuring the team lives up to our purpose with appropriate training

 

Your client responsibilities are:

  1. To develop and encourage your team to develop close long-term client relationships.
  2. To initiate strategic direction of client group business where appropriate
  3. To maintain and develop C-Suite and Senior relationships across key clients
  4. Ensuring targets are met and opportunities maximised in existing client relationships

 

Your attributes, skills and experience:

 

  • Empathy and love of the culture and positioning of the company
  • Strong understanding of financial / fintech or professional services
  • Good contacts across the financial services marketplace
  • Strong understanding of brand and ability to contribute at a strategic level to client business
  • Strong media relationships and ability to take a platform on behalf of the group
  • Ideally you will understand how PR, social, content and marketing can integrate to provide more effective campaigns for our clients
