About the role

 

We’re looking for a PR Account Director, or a seasoned Senior Account Manager ready for their next challenge, to join our growing Bristol team. As an Account Director, you’ll be responsible for providing operational support to the senior directors by managing a portfolio of clients, predominantly within the corporate comms space. As well as providing strategic advice to clients, you’ll also be managing more junior team members and playing an active part in driving new business initiatives.   

 

 

 

Key deliverables

  • Uses in depth media and digital knowledge, expertise of specific sectors and industries, creativity tools and data driven insights to deliver strategic counsel and solutions to clients.  
  • Advises and counsels clients on the role communications plays in an organisation’s business strategy, using the appropriate methods to develop strong working relationships.
  • Resolves client issues and has clarity about desired outcomes, escalating as appropriate.
  • Develops new business leads and assists in the negotiation process with prospective and existing clients and suppliers. 
  • Supports the senior directors in delivering the new business process, leveraging the skills and experience of the wider team.
  • Monitors media and industry trends and landscape for new opportunities to sell in additional Grayling products and services to clients to enhance revenue and profitability.
  • Assists in creating budgets and handles the ongoing profitable management of them, ensuring a balance between client service and profitability and providing rationale to the client in order to demonstrate added value.
  • Assists the senior team in setting KPIs and measurement metrics, using them to increase client satisfaction by addressing issues with the account team.
  • Develop and mentor team members by utilising appropriate people management techniques and company processes, along with celebrating successes.
  • Empowering the team to achieve their full potential in a positive and supportive environment.
  • Connect with colleagues from across the global Grayling network, leveraging opportunities to work together for commercial benefit and to enhance professional development.
  • Build an external network for the benefit of self and the wider business by seeking out and attending external professional networking events and identifying potential new business opportunities.
  • Continually develop professional and management skills through training initiatives and learning opportunities, keeping up to date with client-specific media, industry and digital developments.  

 

About you

  • Has a sharp business and PR acumen to quickly determine short- and long-term priorities for self and junior team members to ensure all client needs are met
  • Experienced in managing and working on a diverse range of corporate accounts within a PR agency environment
  • Strategic, analytical thinker with the initiative to see a program through from start to finish
  • Strong understanding of both traditional and digital public relations
  • Curious – a desire to learn, improve, apply new knowledge and develop self
  • Incisive, creative and strategic problem solver
