Purpose of role

We are looking for excellent communicators, team players, creative thinkers and naturally curious individuals to join our award-winning Consumer PR team at Account Manager or Senior Account Manager level (experience dependent. Based in our London offices, you’ll be working across a broad spectrum of clients including the likes of Visa, Pokerstars, Badoo, Good Catch, Clinique La Prairie, Nescafe Dolce Gusto, self-portrait and more.

As an Account Manager or Senior Account Manager, you’ll be responsible for managing the delivery of effective and creative PR solutions which surprise and delight Grayling’s clients by building strong relationships with the media and client teams and by managing internal teams and processes skillfully.

Accountabilities

  • Interpret and respond to client briefs and develop effective communication strategies using media expertise, creativity tools and data driven insights, resulting in creative solutions and advice for the benefit of the client
  • Demonstrate creative thinking to develop relevant and impactful stories for clients, that meet objectives and deliver coverage
  • Contribute to new business proposals
  • Understand and manage the relationship between client service and profitability, escalating any issues appropriately
  • Manage personal and team time meticulously, identifying and resolving time-based issues effectively, as well as assisting junior staff in managing their workloads
  • Seek out training opportunities to enhance personal and team development
  • Manage and develop junior staff, resolving or escalating issues promptly and fairly, along with regularly celebrating successes
  • Develop a personal network of internal and external industry contacts, identifying new business opportunities resulting from these contacts

If your experience is more aligned to that of a Senior Account Manager, you will also;

  • Act as the primary contact to clients, continually fostering the client-agency relationship to build trust and become a valuable resource to clients
  • Manage multiple projects from conception to completion, by anticipating challenges and ensuring deadline and budget adherence
  • Resolve client issues and has clarity about desired outcomes, escalating as appropriate and recommending best approach to senior account lead
  • Develop new business leads and assists in the negotiation process with prospective and existing clients and suppliers.
  • Support the senior directors in delivering the new business process, leveraging the skills and experience of the wider team 

About you

  • Has sharp business and PR acumen to quickly determine short- and long-term priorities for self and junior team members to ensure all client needs are met
  • Experienced in managing and working on a diverse range of consumer focused accounts
  • Strategic, analytical thinker with the initiative to see a program through from start to finish
  • Strong understanding of both traditional and digital public relations
  • Digitally savvy
  • Curious – a desire to learn, improve, apply new knowledge and develop self
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Creative thinker and problem solver
  • Commercially aware and decisive
