An experienced Head of Media is needed to work at the heart of the City of London.

 

Working to the Executive Director of Communications and External Affairs you will tell the story of how the City of London Corporation works across London for the benefit of the Square Mile, the capital and the country.

 

You will be responsible for leading on the day-to-day external communications through print, broadcast and digital media of all the work delivered by the City of London Corporation to promote financial and professional services in the UK - and in particular those based in the City of London. You will also be responsible for high-profile planning and transportation matters in the Square Mile as well as the City Corporation’s major programmes across London.

 

Leading a team of five Media Officers you will be focused on the City Corporation’s promotion of financial and professional services, managing performance and providing direction and support to ensure media communications are clear, consistent and confident.

 

You will also lead a Film Team consisting of two officers that promote the Square Mile and the City Corporation’s assets as locations for filming – from major Hollywood blockbusters to smaller documentaries.

 

As a key member of the Communications Team, you will work with senior officers and elected Members including the Lord Mayor, Policy Chairman as well as every media outlet from local to international TV networks.

 

An understanding of key business, political and London issues and media opportunities is important – and a commitment to excellence and results is essential.

 

You will also have the ability to make the most of a fast-changing and stimulating environment, working with a wide range of stakeholders from elected members, City Corporation officers to journalists.
