Public Affairs Account Manager

Location: London, (Hybrid)

My client an award-winning communications consultancy that advises enterprises, institutions, and individuals on building recognition and enhancing reputation.

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Public Affairs Manager to join the London team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in developing and executing public affairs strategies for their diverse client base. You will be responsible for managing client relationships, providing strategic counsel, and ensuring the delivery of impactful public affairs campaigns.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive public affairs strategies to support clients' objectives.
  • Monitor and analyse political, legislative, and regulatory developments relevant to clients.
  • Provide strategic advice to clients on political and policy issues.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including policymakers, government officials, and industry leaders.
  • Prepare and deliver persuasive communications, including policy briefs, position papers, and consultation responses.
  • Organise and manage client events, such as roundtables, policy briefings, and stakeholder meetings.
  • Represent clients at external meetings, conferences, and public forums.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to integrate public affairs activities with broader communications and PR strategies.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in public affairs, government relations, or a related field, within an agency environment.
  • Strong understanding of the UK political landscape and legislative processes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and persuade.
  • Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proactive and results-oriented, with a track record of achieving measurable outcomes.
  • Bachelor's degree in political science, public policy, communications, or a related discipline.
  • Familiarity with specific industry sectors relevant to our clients (e.g., healthcare, technology, finance).
