About the Role We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Director of Membership Engagement & Communication to join our team. In this pivotal role, you will support the CEO in raising the profile of the Association, working closely with the CEO, the National Office team and our volunteer network. You will engage with key stakeholders including our membership, the public, government bodies, and the bereaved. You will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies that enhance member engagement, retention, and satisfaction. Additionally, you will oversee communication efforts to ensure clear and effective messaging across all platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver a membership engagement and communications strategy.
- To build and maintain relationships with key sector stakeholders to source relevant and insightful content for our award winning magazine, FDM.
- Identify membership recruitment and retention opportunities while ensuring high-quality member services.
- Work in line with the Association’s external communications strategy.
- Collaborate with the Marketing & Design Manager to create innovative digital marketing strategies.
- Attend and represent the Association at key meetings and events to engage with members and highlight initiatives.
- Regularly report on KPIs and budget performance to the Senior Team.
Person Specification
- Proven experience in growing membership within a membership association.
- Strong business and marketing acumen with excellent decision-making skills.
- Experience in leading internal and external communications.
- Proficiency in digital communication platforms and social media tools.
- Confident in relationship management and a skilled networker.
- Strong leadership and team motivation abilities.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and project management skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
- A presence and commitment to delivering the Association’s mission, values, and strategic direction across the United Kingdom.
Location: National Office, Solihull - 2 days minimum office /1 day field based/2 days hybrid, working from home.
